East Coast Dance Comes to the Core Center

Private school training at recreational cost!

The Core has dance program with an artistic director that may be just what you’re looking for! My name is Gilda Akin and I am an East Coast transplant now happily adjusting to Southern life and bringing my love of dance to Coppell. I have trained to be a dancer my whole life.

My dance education started at three years old and continued through college as part of Oklahoma City University’s elite dance program. Since my OCU days I have been blessed to be affiliated with some of the most successful and prestigious dance studios across the East Coast. I have contributed to the dance training and education that has resulted in some of my previous students dancing on Broadway, headlining in Vegas shows, choreographing for music videos and performing on cruise ships across the world.

I will provide top notch training and technique and always remember the most important part of taking a dance class, having fun! It’s my mission to make my students feel inspired and share my love for dance!

Although recital is not mandatory, performing on stage builds confidence and your child’s love for dance will grow with each round of applause!

A combination class of ballet, tap and creative movement with an introduction to tumbling. With the use props (all supplied by studio) and a little imagination we will turn into princesses, fairies, frogs playing dance themed games all while learning the fundamentals of dance!
